alla pagina italiana This is a version of an OpenOffice.org 2.3.1 based application, called OOoHs and it is a development version. As such it can be unstable and dangerous for your data. It is released under the GPL license, version 3, hence the OpenOffice.org becomes here a contributor, the main one by far, but if you download OOoHs, please don't ask the OpenOffice.org community lists if something goes wrong. It is suggested you install it on a non production PC. You have been advised. OOoHs installs as a completely different application from OpenOffice.org, that is, you can install it on a PC where OpenOffice.org pristine distribution will be installed as well and it is suggested you do so. It can be installed alone as well. Remember to deactivate the Quickstarter applet using the menu item: Tools > Options > Memory. A new user configuration separated from the OpenOffice.org will be created and used. A list of the fixed issue(s) this version contains is provided below. The source code is provided as well. A Windows™ version is provided. Installation on Linux™A build for Ubuntu 7.10 is available here.It contains the pure 'deb' packets, you should install them usign 'dpkg'. No repository is available. Version generated on .Jan, 1st 2008.
It can be installed together with the distribution OpenOffice.org. Disable the quickstart from the 'Tools > Options > OOoHs > Memory' , to avoid collision with the quickstart from the distribution OpenOffice.org. Installation on Microsoft® Windows®Before installingIf you installed a previous version of OOoHs, first remove it.In case you desire to have both OpenOffice.org and OOoHs on the same machine, the sequence of the installation depends on what application you want when double click on a ODF file. If you install both, then you should disable the quickstart application: go to menu Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Memory and disable the checkbox 'Load OpenOffice.org during system start-up' you'll find there. Do the same for OOoHs. That is, if you'd like to have OpenOffice.org start up when double clicking on an item, then you should install it last, and start it first. So in this case the sequence would be:
So if you want to maintain OpenOffice.org, then after removal of OOoHS you should run an installation repair of OpenOffice.org after OOoHs un-install. If you already have OpenOffice.org installed, then after you install OOoHS, you will have the double click on ODF file linked to OOoHs instead of linked to OpenOffice.org. In this case the suggested sequence would be:
InstallingDownload the file, then install it as if it were OpenOffice.org. It will install itself as OOoHs.Choose one of the sequences indicated above. The automatic caption feature will default to 'above', the best solution for a document intended for PDF distribution. Remenber that the 'above' automatic caption not always runs smootly. The port connection of OOoHs will default to port 8105 instead of not being enabled, and to a state of enabled. This could be bad for security reason. A document that allows to change the status of this port connection is available here, the document titled "UNO Connection Listener" contains a set of macro and buttons useful to easily change this set-up. Other details are available on the on-line OpenOffice.org api documentation, starting from here. Version generated on Dec, 31st 2007.
